Catholic Parish Registers Now Online!

The National Library of Ireland (NLI) has published online the full range of Catholic Church Parish registers. These registers were only viewable on microfilm at either  the NLI Dublin location or from the Family History Center by loan from the Mormon Library. I am in the process of transcribing the films and will post once complete. I will try to add the link so you may view the image also. If you would like to search yourself their website is www.nli.ie.

ABOUT

This web site was created to supplement the hard work of others in uncovering knowledge of past Normoyle/Normiles, etc..

Who am I? My name is Gene Normoyle and my family settled in Astoria, Queens NY. The first arrivals in my family line first stayed in Manhattan. My GGF stayed with his brothers and mother at first, until his wife and family arrived six months later. Unfortunately one brother, Cornelius, was killed and another, Thomas died of sickness. Thomas’ surviving family then relocated to Chicago, and now today that bloodline resides in San Francisco. I have traced my GGF back to Labasheeda, County Clare, Ireland around 1873, and do know that my GGGF's name was Connor, but that is all. Most of the male ancestors were either stone masons or carpenters. Connor moved around quite often but always in the townlands of Killadysert, Killofin, Kilmurry, and Kilfiddane.

Why the website? Having the convenience of fabulous research sources nearby, namely the NY Public Research Library, National Archives, and NYC Archives, I became passionate in obtaining the available information on our family name. I wanted to continue to hard work of Ken Normile and share

Why the website? Having the convenience of fabulous research sources nearby, namely the NY Public Research Library, National Archives, and NYC Archives, I became passionate in obtaining the available information on our family name. I wanted to continue to hard work of Ken Normile and share the information that I was able to obtain. Another reason for publishing this web site is to make available the information obtained from the many databases I've scoured. The transcriptions are from the US census, and local vital and military records. I do have the original image file saved, but due to space limitations on the server I can’t show them. I can email you the file if you request.

Most of the information is tabulated in MS Word or Excel files. I have saved some of the files as images because the Wix server will not allow me to display a spreadsheet of document file onto the page. Information used from this site and published on another site should reference the source of material. Many thousands of hours have been toiled in compiling this information and I would expect the information to be used for personal use only.

Now I need you to share. Pass on some of your family tree so others might link into the line. Please do not include your more recent family due to privacy and predators. If there is something you would like to see on this website, I am open to any suggestions and criticisms. Hey! We are Family!
